Online Bulletin Boards
If you're looking for richer insights and more convenience and
flexibility from your qualitative research, MRSI can help using
online bulletin boards.
An online bulletin board is an interactive, qualitative research
tool that allows respondents to participate in highly involved
discussions over several days.
Advantages over traditional in-person qualitative research
include:
- Time and travel savings for the marketing research team
- More in-depth insight and increased involvement time as
respondents participate at their convenience and have time to
provide well thought out responses
- Ability to quickly alter the discussion guide or probe more
deeply based on "golden nuggets" from earlier discussions
- Ability to share various types of stimuli including audio,
video, images, and web sites
- 24 hour access to bulletin boards gives your marketing research
team tremendous flexibility
- Virtually immediate access to transcripts with full analytical
reports to follow
Online bulletin boards are ideal for:
- Low-incidence populations
- Geographically dispersed respondents
- Sensitive topics where respondents prefer anonymity
- Advertisement or web site testing
- Concept, package or product testing where stimuli doesn't need
to be "in-hand"
How does it work? Typically 15-20 respondents participate in an
online bulletin board discussion over a period of three days.
Respondents are recruited and screened similarly to traditional
focus groups and are asked to spend time each day, at their
convenience, communicating online in a moderated discussion. Over
the course of the 3-day session, respondents are presented with a
variety of questions, visuals or pre-determined topics for their
review and evaluation.
Respondents maintain their anonymity throughout the session and
the marketing research team can view proceedings online in real
time. Upon completion of the bulletin boards, MRSI summarizes
results and key findings and provides insightful interpretation and
recommendations that help you make strategic marketing
decisions.
